Scoring 8.5+ Pointer In Engineering - University Exams

Scoring 8.5+ Pointer is not difficult in Engineering. However, you should have a systematic approach to it. But things is that you need to be Consistent during your Entire Semester in all the Category such as Internal Exams (Unit Tests), Practical Exams, Viva Exams & End Semester Exams.

These were some of the things that I followed (although not full fledged) which helped to achieve this higher score. Hope it helps you too.

PONTER SYSTEM
It is a fair unfair system.
Students with 99% marks and 81 % marks are under same category. So you don’t need to be a topper and run for the whole bun. Even 80% work is counted as fully done !

STUDY MATERIAL THAT YOU MUST HAVE
1. Syllabus Copy of your University (Hardcopy or Softcopy, But Must Required)
2. At least 1 or 2 Books for each subject (refer books by Teachers & Seniors Advice, this may save your time for collecting good quality of contents)
3. As per University, There are Local Publishers who publishes the textbook as per University Syllabus which also may help to collect the Contents Of Syllabus which is difficult to find from Reference Books.
4. At least Last 4 Years Question Papers you must have (This will Available in your College Library & you must Download Soft Copy of that Question Papers in your Mobile Phone From your Collage/University Website or Any Online Portal or just simply Click Pictures of Question Papers by your Mobile Camera so that you can refer this any time)
5. If Notes are available from your Senior Students & College Professor or Any Coaching Institute you may follow those along with Books which may help to clear Difficult Concepts.

BEFORE STARTING PREPARATION
1. Talk To Senior Students
Who may be you collage mates, hostel friends or any other, by taking advices from them regarding particular subject about important topics & portion which needs more practice may help you alot while preparation of any subject.
2. Refer Old Question Papers
Questions do repeat! If you are not from the first batch to face revised syllabus!

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT I DID :
1. Setting Goals
This is an important step. Take a piece of paper and write what you want to achieve, in this case it’s a 8+ CGPA and future goal depending on it. Write it willingly, with determination and focus. Pin it up on your soft board or keep it at your desk. Whenever you think that you’re getting distracted or feel like giving up, read it once… it can help you motivate.
2. Attending Lectures And Practicals Regularly
This is one thing that you must implement from the start. Engineering is completely different from school teaching. You must be attentive during lectures, take down notes, and try to occupy the front benches for better learning. There will be some times when you’ll get very bored or feel sleepy… but it’s perfectly alright. Even if you give 20-30% of your attention this time it’s fine; at least something will go in your mind. Practicals should never be missed and done all by yourself and get your doubts cleared.
3. Completing Assignments
As far as possible, try to complete your own assignments. It is very beneficial, Even if you haven’t been revising regularly, while writing your assignments you’ll revise something.
4. Compromising
You will have to compromise on some things if you want this badly. You may have to keep yourself away from many extra curricular activities or you may not be able to go for every outing planned with friends. In fact, you should be wise enough to decide for yourself- whether you can afford to compromise or not.
5. Preparation
It’s not possible to study regularly for various reasons. For mid term exams, you must start studying 1–2 weeks in advance so that you will be relaxed during the exams. Make Good Notes from text books and references Refer to this while studying one day before the exam. For end semester exams, start studying minimum one month before. You need good strategy and planning too. Selective studies is also very smart if you have strong gut feelings!
6. Sleep And Health
Never compromise on sleep and health. You must sleep for 5–7 hours minimum. It helps to concentrate better.
7. Enjoy !
You need to have fun and make this journey memorable! You need to enjoy and have a great time with friends too. You can also chill out by giving time for your hobbies and many other things.

After all, Working Hard is Important, But there’s something that matters even more is; Believing In Yourself.
